First they came for brown people,
And many of us spoke out –
We immediately brought up this poem.

Then they came for comedians,
And many more spoke louder –
Because we saw clearly where this was going.

Then they came for protesters,
Screaming our dissent –
Because we have eyes and ears and Tiktok.

They will come for us,
And we will speak for ourselves
Because they only have power if we don’t.
